Beating up your spouse is not a mistake. It's domestic violence.

The whole situation is a lot more serious than she wants to acknowledge, but that's okay because it got a national dialogue going.

This is really sad because her mentality is so prevalent amongst domestic violence cases. She's almost taking blame for something that her husband did that was outright unacceptable. This isn't something that you gloss over as a couple and I hope she's able to absolve her situation safely.

This woman is an abuse victim; it is not unreasonable for her to feel this way. Remember she still loves this man and for all intents and purposes, he is her husband.

Love can be too blind sometimes. She needs proper help, and she is not getting it. All she is getting is media scrutiny and people blaming her in all kinds of ways for staying and for loving him in spite of the abuse. It's not her fault - the only one here who should be criticized is her husband and anyone else involved in trying to cover up his misdeeds.
