Yes. Her first album was very boring hence its commercial outcome and the second one is very typical apart from 3-4 tracks. Most people on ATRL think something is not generic if it either features a rapper or is urban influenced, so you'll have many disagreeing with you.

I don't think she is generic, Scooter Braun is just forcing her to release generic singles.
Lolz.. I doubt anything she has done reaches anything near the masterpiece called Rated R. And Unapologetic it is a masterpiece which got some bad reviews just for the sake of Chris Brown being featured. And not a website that aggregates some U.S scores being the best measure.

She's not basic musically but I think her personality is more bland. I love the girl but she seems very shy and reserved. There is nothing wrong with that because it makes her likable.
