Both her albums are very generic sounding but... it somehow works? Especially on My Everything it works... They are generic but you can't help but love them.
She is without a doubt the blandest female artist to make a play for pop girl in recent years. Nothing about her music is particularly outstanding and she fails to show any true artistry aside from the good voice she has and doesn't necessarily need with her material.
Seriously, it goes right down to her image - Taylor and Katy can pull off quirky girl-next-door in a more lively fashion, Rihanna goes balls-out with her sexuality and edge and Beyonce knows how to put her all into a performance. Ariana injects as much energy into her image and performance as one would into watching the paint dry on their bathroom walls.
