Why Can't Women Have Casual Sex w/o Being Labeled?
Why is it such a problem? Why can't, I, as a woman have sex outside of a relationship and not be deemed a hoe, thot, community *****, etc? You see it all the time with men, but it's only a problem when women do it. ****-shaming is sad especially in the cases where it's being done over rumors (eg: Rihanna and Taylor Swift).
You see male celebrities (Justin Bieber, Drake, Chris Brown) linked to several different women and it's not a problem. They're deemed to just be having "fun" and not ready to be tied down, but why can't women have fun? Why is it only okay for a woman to have sex if she's in a monogamous relationship?
As horrible as s***-shaming is, a lot of it is done by women themselves. It's not as black-and-white as "we live in a patriarchal society controlled by straight white men!!!!!!!1111" Women are complicit in it too.
As Tina Fey wrote/said in 'Mean Girls' - "you have got to stop calling each other sl**s and wh***s. It only makes it ok for guys to call you sl**s and wh***s."
The first step in the sexual liberation of women is reclaiming the word. That's why feminists march in "sl**-walks" around the world. To make everyone realise there's nothing wrong with being sexually promiscuous and it shouldn't be shamed. If a woman wants to be promiscuous, that's her prerogative and she's free to do so.
It's also important to make sure straight men know it's not ok to call women sl**s/wh***s, but there will always be millions of men who use it against women like it's a bad thing. Women need to own their sexualities to have full control over them. If they're sexually promiscuous and someone calls them a sl** they need to be like "yeah...I'm getting laid. I love it. Are you? Or do you just play with your hand every night?"
It reminds me of this scene in Daydream Nation where one girl tries to sl**-shame another and she completely owns it.
You can, in my opinion. There ain't nothing wrong with it so go for it. (ofc be safe, careful ect)
The reason why women are more frowned upon for doing it than men is because of patriarchal value's that many people still have (even if they are not aware of having them).
Women can get pregnant and so by sleeping around a woman is at risk of having a child with no father to support it. Of course so could a man but as long as this does not happen he is not seen as a danger seeing as it's women who are meant to entrap a man into a relationship and not put out ect. So he would only be looked badly upon if he got a woman pregnant and then just left, it's not his job to go against his nature and not have sex it's a woman's job to make him marry her (or whatever). So basically a promiscuous woman is not fulfilling her role in a patriarchal system.
The interesting thing is women stigmatize promiscuous women as much of not more than men do, even many feminist women do it.
we live in a society that can't stand to see a woman be in charge of her sexuality. I say **** it and **** anyone who thinks women can't have casual sex and not be looked at in a negative way. you do whatever you damn well please and anyone who has some **** to say can shove it up their ass
Because as reinvention stated (however sarcastically) our society was molded and controlled by straight white men. That means there are ridiculous double standards between men and women, whites and POC and gays and straights. Yeah some of hose groups might perpetuate it but it's a learned behavior. If some girl grew up hearing that girls who slept with lots of men were ****s from practically everyone she'll just take this as a fact.p and she is not to blame whoever started this ridiculous double standard is.

There are just as many men with multiple baby's mothers walking around here as there are women with multiple baby's daddies.
I know many women do it and it's sad. I personally don't care who you're sleeping with, male or female, unless I'm sleeping with you too.
Patriarchy wasn't really designed by men, this is a misconception it just generally puts men on top in most cases. It's also not really the cause of bigotry, it's a societal system that revolves around the fact that women can get pregnant and men can't.

!!!!
I mean if I wanted to test the waters before I'm strapped down to the same dick for the rest of my life then that's my prerogative.
I mean I've only had casual sex twice (with the same guy) in my life for a # of reasons, but if I wanted to that's my business.

Well yeah, women unfairly get the blame though because their role is to have and take care of children and the only way to do this in a patriarchal system is to get a man.
It's all very silly and it's funny that people still follow these rules to some extent when they don't even believe them to be true or live by them themselves.
the idea that women should try to save themselves before marriage and that they should behave like "ladies" and not sleep around with different men comes from religion and i think that the fact that they can get pregnant also has something to do with it.
I don't know tbh, and I hate it.
I am a straight male myself but if I can have sex with 5 different women and get away with it, why can't a woman do the same? (I'm not including my religious point of view in this though)
And in most religions, and in mine too (Islam) both men and women aren't allowed to have sex (or even to masturbate) before marriage, so that's not the case.
