true, there are VERY few airlines whose safety standards are lacking and potentially dangerous, but this can happen to anyone. All the major US airlines have been involved in major crashes.

An airline who's hemorrhaging money and looking to cut costs where ever they can. MH370 might be the result from pilot intervention, but the disappearance exposed massive cost cutting in aircraft servicing practices. MH17 flew that particular route because it was cheaper. PoisonPill is right, you get what you pay for. Fly with a reputable first world airline and you should be fine.
