Kylie's fan base learned this back in 2010 word for word from a BBC Radio 1 exec admission on Twitter and in person to a forum member. They are much more blatantly harsh on women that are 40+ and ClearChannel in the States' is even worse.
The days of Cher's "Believe" and Madonna's "Hung Up" are long gone, even though both were technically anomalies anyways. Women that are 40+ (with little exception) now need feature's to be played (J.Lo's On the Floor) unless they have a radio deal (J.Lo's First Love).
Radio's dying and they are getting desperate to pull in the young demo's (who are all drifting away to Streaming services) for advertisers' and in tightening their rules to pull them in the first people on the chopping block are artists that are 40+.
Everyone should have seen this coming.
