My next door neighbour had breast cancer. She's like my mum's best friend. I remember being in the kitchen, packing the shopping and my mum was like 'my world is falling apart.' my sister asked what she meant and my mum told us my mum cried, my mum hardly ever does.
She got the breast removed, so she's cleared now, thank God.
She's 86 and still going strong. I hope anyone who has experienced it or effected by it will get through it and hopefully not only survive but live.

I just really want there to be a cure for cancer. It's all I want. I heard the government has already got it but something like it's too expensive

I think it's an option that the government wouldn't release something like that, imagine how much money the medical industry will lose. Same with cure for HIV/AIDS. Patients giving them their coins for all the procedures for non-curable illnesses is what make the industry, unfortunately.

I've been battling cancer on and off for ten years. In 2004 was the first year I was diagnosed and I had bone cancer. They had to replace my hip and femur with titanium metal. I was good for two years until I was diagnosed again in 2007 and they had to replace my tibia and knee with titanium metal. It was on the same leg by the way. Unfortunetly four years later I got it on my ribs and had to have four of them removed. A year later (2013) I was diagnosed with bone cancer on my jaw and another tumor on my left pelvis. it's been a rough year! I'm still fighting the pelvis tumor but I had surgery on my jaw to remove my cancer. Cancer ****ing sucks and I would never wish it on anyone. a month before I was diagnoses the first time my five year old brother had passed away from lukiemia. Cancer has put our family through so much pain and it has affected me a lot. I hope if I do win this battle again that this is the last ****ing time.

if that's true and they're keeping a cure for mother****ing cancer hidden because they're afraid of the medical industry failing then they all serve to be shot dead. that is the absolute dumbest ******** I've ever heard in my time one earth. how the **** can you have a ****ing cure for cancer and KEEP IT HIDDEN? i can't even show how angry the idea of that being true makes me.

My mother passed away from breast cancer when I was 4 so I didn't really get the opportunity to know her. My grandmother had it too, and it runs pretty heavily in my family. My paternal grandfather and two of his siblings also died from it, so it does scare me at times that either I or my children could be affected someday.

I feel like there's a big conspiracy concerning big pharmaceutical companies that have already found a cure but don't want to share it with the mankind since it would not give them earnings.

Having lost a very close family member to cancer I can say that it's one of the worst things that can happen to someone and their loved ones.

I'm so sorry that you have to experience that. I've never had cancer myself, but my grandfather had stomach cancer and passed from it in 2012. Keep your head up and always stay positive, it'll keep you going! Again, i can't express how sorry i am that you have to experience something so terrible

My mom has cysts on her back, mouth and ovary. I hope it gets cured by chemo. =(

My dad was diagnosed with chronic myeloid Leukaemia almost 19 yrs ago. At the time he was told he'd be lucky to see out another 5 years, thankfully he's still alive today. He's been to the darkest depths of hell and back during his course of treatment. A couple of years ago he was put on a world first trial and the reaction was amazing, so much so he got placed in remission. Unfortunately he wasn't in the clear very long cause it came back and just before Xmas last year he got some bad test results. He's in the process of switching to a new drug at the moment. The withdrawals from his previous drug and the side effects of the new one are horrendous. I dunno, lately he just hasn't seemed himself and mum said it's the worst she's ever seen him. I'm really worried he won't be around much longer

My uncle died from pancreatic cancer in 2011. He was diagnosed December 2010 and died February 2011. Such a ruthless cancer

And just last week a friend was diagnosed with lung cancer. She had a full scan on Friday to see if it's spread and gets the results on Tuesday. If it has, and it looks very likely that it has, she has almost no chance of survival.

There are some new medicines works very well for some cancer types. Like Imatinib for Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. So i don't ever think something like that. If there will be a cure, it'll probably be another medicine, so the industry won't lose anything.

That's the drug my dads currently coming off. It's called Glivec here. The side effects are hideous, his skin is so paper thin, the tiniest brush against a hard surface and he bleeds. He's also had heart problems since on it and suffers from constant fatigue

Hey, you can have your bad days . Like for me I'm just grateful that I have a chance to live and that I have the insurance to get treated. Some people are far worst than me that don't have the insurance to pay or don't have a high chance of living. it's all in the way you look at the situation.

I know dozens of people who've had cancer, the family of the patient is a victim as well... I've known people to commit suicide, fight the disease, left by their husband or wife, etc, etc. Every case is a different story, even if it's the same kind of cancer. It's a horrible disease, but at one point in our lives we all get cancer, even if we don't die from it...

My grandma passed away from breast cancer, she won the first battle in 2005 but the bitch came back and took her in 2012. One of my best friends from college has Hodgkin's lymphoma, she's 21 and was the life of the party. I can't handle losing another friend because of this disease
