"Guys shouldn't hit girls": chivalrous or misogynistic?
So the hit 'gay boy attacks girl' thread inspired this thread, but is the rule "Guys shouldn't hit girls" chivalrous or misogynistic?

No one should hit anyone period, regardless of race, gender, or sexuality, unless they are being provoked/ threatened/ bullied, but even then, I wouldn't recommend it unless there was no choice but too.

Just keep your hands to yourself. Women shouldn't hit men, and men shouldn't hit women. If a woman is brave enough to put their hands on a man, then they're brave enough to get hit back and vise versa.

Nobody should be hitting each-other to begin with BUT if a girl stars beating up a guy or starts to threaten him then i've got no problem with him defending himself

I think each case should be analyzed separately, it's wrong to beat weaker people
but
what if the girl is stronger? what if the girl did something? idk, sometimes the "beating" should be threated equaly but most times, no
blindily saying beating girls would be more wrong than beating other guys seems a bit ignorant to me

I'm not sure if I agree. If a girl were to start hitting me, I would grab her hands, throw her away, and walk away. They may be going through that PMS stuff, and it easier for me to walk away then to just beat her up in "self-defense" when she had no chance to take me anyways.

Misogynistic. If a girl wants to punch then she should be ready to get punched back. I mean, I wouldn't hit most girls I know because I feel like it wouldn't be a fair fight, I would give them 10x what that boy in the video gave that girl. I would prefer to fight a man

I agree with this, but the statement "guys shouldn't hit girls" implies that girls can hit guys in self-defense, but guys shouldn't do the same.

No one should hit anyone, but in self-defence a man has a right to hit a woman just as anyone else has a right to hit someone that's attacking them.
