Ohh, that would be protected though. It is the over excess force that isn't protected. For example, a girl hits you and you hit her back after a delay or with having other options means you get no self defense. But say she hits you, you push her away from you and she just subsequently happens to fall off a cliff. Her falling off the cliff would be unforeseeable and you would have a self defense defense. The law is stupid like that.

That's good then. I was hoping the law wouldn't be so backwards as to say a man can't be threatened enough to warrant self-defense from a woman.

Like some have already said, people need to keep their hands to themselves. Regardless of gender.
If you want to be so bold as to hit someone, expect to get hit back.

And for those saying men are stronger, there are plenty strong women.

I've fought a male before. And I know quite a few girls who've chin-checked a male or two in self dense.

Also, there are males AND females who take advantage of their partners disadvantages.

Point being, all of this can and SHOULD be avoided if you just keep your hands to yourself.

People do seem to forget you genuinely have relationships where women are abusive to men. If a woman is strong enough to physically harm a man, is she not then strong enough to take his self-defense? It's a really tricky one. I feel weird for saying it because it's like we've all been pre-programmed to think man on woman fighting is wrong (which it is). If a woman is attacking a man and causing him bodily harm, is it not his right to protect himself?

Either way, I just don't get myself into situations where violence is an answer. Nor do I have any urge to hit someone, regardless of gender.

I doubt the men saying they would hit a woman back actually will. They know damn well they'll be the one's getting arrested, and everyone will side with the girl.

It doesn't matter what gender you are, if you come swinging at me for no reason (I never start up drama or a scene), I'll come swinging back. I would never hit a girl or guy first, even if I had a problem with them. And if I wanted to, I'd hold the door for anyone, regardless of whether you are male or female as well. A lot of people have the idea of doing these kinds of things only for women.

I'd say it's chivalrous because a man can be physically stronger than woman (some woman do know how to kick a guys ass though, I've seen it with my own eyes) and it's a good thing letting kids of today know that women deserve to be respected.
