Saw this earlier. People are complaining so much. For what?

Currently, begging my friend to clear space in his apartment so I can move and get money.

The funny thing people don't get is the more you make, the more you get taxed on your income so more comes out of your check so you would actual being making that 7.50 an hour you are suppose to be making.

Not to mention the prices of everything in the area have to go up to offset the dramatic increase. Gas and food are gonna be ridiculous there.

Why do people think this is a valid argument?

Minimum wage has not kept up with inflation. It's impossible to live off of minimum wage, even full time ($7.25 per hour equals only $15,080 a year a full-time, year-round). This is especially relevant considering that the average minimum-wage worker is 35 years old and often supporting children.

Wealth inequality is immense, similar to how it was before the 1929 stock market crash and ensuing depression. Things need to change.

My $9 an hour wages stay sad.

Horrible idea. Now companies will just lay people off because they won't want to, or can't afford to play so much to employees. Minimum wage jobs aren't supposed to be of livable wage anyway.

My god My minimum wage is 8 dollars and before January of this year it was $7.25

Who gets to decide what sort of jobs make livable wages? Certainly not the workers, who often have no other option but working minimum wage jobs.
