Do you not realize how much mcdonalds makes a year they will be fine
true, but what about small businesses though? employers are not going to hire as many people. + this is going to make seattle more expensive to live in.

Well that is Definetly true ! But let's not be worrying about multi million dollar corporations.
But yeah small businesses who might typically hire college students or young people for example at a low wage will suffer and the business owners will be working a lot more
Kinda messy. If I was an employer, I just wouldn't higher half as many people.
Hiring employees is a part of running a business. If you can't afford to pay your employees a living wage, then maybe you need to downsize until you reach a level where you can afford it.
Yeah, raising the minimum wage just increases inflation so the people who had the wage increase will end up at the same level of poverty they were before anyway.
Corporations are greedy monsters. It should be a law that the money needed to pay the employees more should come straight from the CEO's paycheck. He wouldn't even notice anyway.
woah, y'all need to move to Australia. my first ever wage (at 14) was $8.41. and right now my base hourly rate is $32.89 I can't believe how low minimum wage is over there.
I work at McDonald's, we have ~60 workers... and the minimum wage is going up to $11/hour on June 1. It won't affect the number of workers though, we just hired 5 new people.
