My mom got on my iPad while I was at work and went through my Tumblr as well as my Twitter and found out I was bi. Now being the annoyingly Christian woman that she is, she gave me an hour long speech about how it was wrong and how "God gave me a ***** for a reason" and even said that I must think I'm part female since I want to be with guys. Then she took my iPad and still hasn't given it back (but I found it )

But my question is why bother with getting upset over it? I'm 17 and leaving home in a year in a half so who I'm sleeping with is none of her business anyway. She keeps telling me that I'm bisexual because I don't feel loved and that it's all a lie and that I'm corrupted/damaged.

My parents are very accepting, i'm lucky. I also didn't come out until I was in college and didn't live with them anymore, though.

They're overwhelmingly supportive, my mom will point out hot guys and say who I should go for I can't complain, though, it's much better than the alternative, I feel so badly for people whose parents don't support them.

Don't think it should matter, they should be happy for you and support you since thats their job as parents. If they don't, well there's nothing you can do which is sad because you can't go to them when you want to talk about a relationship, a date or having a crush, I can't. I don't have support from my parents but in my church and with some of my friends i've found people that support me and don't care what my preference is, its funny though because my mom is a family therapist but she's the biggest homophobe.

A friend of mine told me it's actually just internalized fear that if their child is homosexual, they won't procreate. A piece of them won't be moving onto the next generation as it always has. It's dumb since gay people can procreate in various ways, but I digress. Cool to think about how far we've all come since the beginning tho

They don't know, they are so religious and homophobic so if i came out they will beat me up till a pass out and will hate me forever, and i am sure that this will happen because i know my parents well

No, once you stop thinking about how people spend their time behind closed doors and remember they are still human beings, just like anyone else sexuality isn't a big deal.

I don't think anyone chooses their sexuality but rather we act on our attractions and we all vary on that.
Besides Heterosexuality doesn't truly exist everyone is slightly gay in one way shape or form.
