I can imagine your parents want grandchildren. But it's your life and I think your parents want you to be happy even more than having grandchildren so it shouldn't matter at all. I think your mom has difficulty with you getting your own life. She's slowly losing control and parents can't let it just go I think.

No. There are so many terrible things that their children could turn out to be. Drug addict, murderer, rapist, felon, etc. And they're going to sit here and get upset because their kid likes the same sex? It's so stupid. Your parents wouldn't be dating who you're dating so why should they even care as long as you're being treated right? And I hate that whole they want grandchildren thing, you shouldn't have kids just for the hope that they'll have kids of their own in the future. And just because someone is gay, that doesn't mean they won't have kids, they could even have bio kids if that's what they're so worried about (although I find it offensive when people act like bio kids are better then adopted kids). Besides, there are many straights that don't want children so it's not just a gay problem of not giving them grandchildren.

My mom gave me many speeches as well. She was very upset, as was my father. Now it's just not really spoken about and they've gotten over it for the most part. But I did come out when I was 14, 6 years ago. Just give it time and she'll become more accepting.

To answer the question, no it shouldn't. I can see a parent become a bit upset if they were expecting you to have grandchildren. Other than that they shouldn't care.

Edit: OH and my mom is bisexual ( which DOES exist ) so she was a bit more understanding. There are a lot of gays and bis in my family.
