It's such a suckage when an artist desperately tries to revive a successful moment back. Some of the worst examples are:

And most of the time it FAILS, so why do they even bother?! ESPECIALLY when they are already big names in the industry? What happened to innovation?

I couldn't agree anymore especially with Beyonce's "Deja Vu" and "Crazy in Love" and Usher's videos for "Love in this Club" and "Yeah"

The only ones I see that are considered recycling is Gwen Stefani's Wind It Up (Hollaback Girl) and the music video for Ushers Love In This Club (Yeah)

When Deja Vu came out I told everyone it was like Crazy In Love, and no one agreed. Finally, I'm glad someone sees it.

Beyonce failed so badly with Deja Vu, it was so awful. It was like Crazy In Love on very cheap drugs.

People always say Britney tried to make another Toxic with RADAR but it came off more like another Do Somethin' imo

Nothing wrong with recycling your winning formula. There is something wrong with a bad attempt at recycling your winning formula which is what this is.

The video for 'Deja Vu' is actually what KILLED the single's chances, I'd say.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree.

First off, Gwen's and Kelly's aren't very similar. Actually, the only similarity is that they are both by the same artist.

Any they are actually successful. "Deja Vu" peaked at #4. "Never Again" at #8, "Wind It Up" at #7. "Bye Bye" hasn't been as successful.

And both "Yeah" and "Love In This Club" peaked at #1. The only one that makes sense is Britney's. "Toxic" peaked at #9, but "Break the Ice" didn't even make top 30.

Yep. It really bothers me how every producer and Britney herself are so obsessed with creating Toxic pt. II. Of course I wouldn't mind a song as EPIC as "Toxic", but I don't want another Toxic. That's the point.



You do not get it.

We're talking about the formula and the pattern of these songs. And none of these songs matched the success that the original ones had or even reached the expectations that these artists had when they wanted to recycle them.

^ it's the same formula, they don't have to sound alike. Get Jay-Z, get buzz, get a hit.

^ Yeah, but you know how it goes....big, much anticipated, first single off the album featuring Jay-Z. That's how she tried (and failed).
