Ever since she released new music, or even since 2011, everyone has turned their backs on her in ignorance and criticised everything she does. She's just a young woman who is extremely talented, loves making music and art and wants to make a positive change through it. Why is everyone so negative towards her? I think there's secret conspiracys in the industry to make her fall and Katy Perry rise. Do you think because she achieved so much in just a few years, everyone got tired and jealous of seeing her everywhere so they're trying to push her aside?

A bit, yes. I mean let's be real - she is definitely the cause of quite a lot of it, but the attitude of the industry and shortsightedness of the GP is a factor.

Like Gaga said in her key note speech. She has already won awards, sold millions of records, and now she is just happy with making music that her fans love. If others want to join the party they are welcomed to, but she is not going to be a label puppet just to increase her listeners.

Now see she's only treated that way for a reason. Look at Beyoncé, she's treated well because she's nice and genuine, so if Lady Gaga is being treated badly, then she must have given people REASON to hate her. People don't just hate for no reason.

Whatever treatment she receives, it all comes back to her and whatever she did to earn that.

A little bit, definitely. People are really mean here on ATRL to her for stupid stuff. Like she had a beautiful interview at SXSW, but people still criticized her. She is actually really smart and puts thought into what she does. People just hate on her to hate on her, and they'll never change their opinion even if she does something spectacular.

I guess that it's unfair for her that the public has stopped caring so much, but then again she hasn't really done anything truly interesting in a while. Sure, she has her "art" on stage and whatever but Applause was basically a third rate Gaga video and a super cold and self-centred song that isn't really relatable. Her constant rationales for everything she does and her over-doing of the "love everyone, so you must love me too" doesn't help either.

No. But she and her fanbase are used to it I'm sure.

As for my personal opinion, the media bashing was very unfair and I reckon allot of those news outlets knew stories like the 25mill rumor were untrue and unsupported. They just wanted to create drama, but then that is what these tabloids do.

I agree with what y'all are saying. She is treated differently because she wants to promote art with her music and was trying to incorporate art into her music. People just were not her for that and I think people are getting tired of it. My thing is what she did the other day felt refreshing and the old Lady Gaga who does give a flying f. She did her thing and performed. Thats the Lady Gaga people fell on love with and hopefully she goes back on track here soon.

She needs to decide though. if she dedicates herself entirely to doing her own thing and all her creative visions then people will respect her more or at least get tired of trashing her and move on.

If she decides to become a pop star like she used to be and not take herself soo seriously (she can still be artistic) again people will respect her more.

This in the middle, one day one thing and the next day another is just messy. People think she is fake because she will say one thing and do another and she changes direction every five minutes.

Well to be quite honest, what's happening to Gaga isn't really surprising. It has happened to many big names in the past.

Gaga was a constant threat to everyone in the industry for a period of at least 4 - 5 years. A lot of the fan bases were sick of seeing her slay so effortlessly, EVERYONE wanted Gaga to fail. They were waiting with baited breathe to see her crash & burn. So when the 1st sign of vulnerability showed up, they attacked & attacked more.

Also Gaga had one of the most iconic peaks the industry has ever seen, her rise was something that not many of her peers have experienced....a rise that included so much success that many achieve that kind of success in years!

Plus, she was the kind of Pop star who had a staggering amount of talent to go along with the "act" of it all....all in all, everything was like a fairytale...so of course people were not going to let it be for long. But Gaga did pull through for half a decade.

With that being said, all this is nothing that Gaga can't get back from. She can & she will. She has yet to show her full potential, she so much more to offer. All this frivolous hate over charts, sales & etc. is fickle.

Lady Gaga will rise & the world will watch & acknowledge it!

THIS is the crap I hate - I mean seriously, it's just senseless drama.

The thing is.... ARTPOP is just a really silly concept that is hard to connect with. It's seems like a stoned idea she had, but unfortunately the ideas you have while stoned don't always turn out to be that great, especially since they seem more important to you than anyone else. Pop music has always incorporated art. I think it's super arrogant and unnecessary to try and bring art into pop music as that is something she's already been doing very well and something others have already done. I know her goal was to bring "art culture" into it but the worlds of visual art and music are different enough that it is hard to execute well, and Gaga seemed to not even try to execute it at all aside from her Art Rave and the song ARTPOP. The rest has no indication of ARTPOP at all....

Yes. The GP are never satisfied with her no matter what she does.
