I know how you feel from this. They don't mean to be a dick about it but they probably don't realize its annoying. I get asked where I'm from sometimes and they mean what Asian country I'm from usually. I always say I'm from NJ and then sometimes they ask the question differently lol

is a black person calling a white person a "cracker" ignorant? sure. I mean what is that even accomplishing? but it's not racist.

Seems to me you are only looking at this from a westernized point of view. Anyone can face racism, and you do point out good points, but if you are implying white people can't experience racism than you're wrong. If you bring the situation to an Asian country than White people definitly can face racism.

A friend of mine is really quick to call anyone out on discrimination or prejudice towards black people but basically does the same thing to every other minority. It's honestly uncomfortable and sadly ironic

Ugh, just another reason why these self-proclaimed seekers of social justice "white people this, white people that" are full of **** It makes me so mad. This is why I can't associate myself with social movements. Everyone's usually wrong.

No, that is not what racism is. Try to deny reality all you want, but this is what the ****ing word means. You can not change the definitions of words. Deal. with. it.

"WHITE PEOPLE" "MEN" "STRAIGHT PEOPLE"
Like, it's the same way of thinking as the MAJOR oppressors. Is it just as bad? No. Is it the same thought process? Yes. People become what oppresses them and it's disgusting. Perfect example is the hatred for fem gays on this site. Like, just quit judging people based on things they have no control over, and judge people on their character/personality. We learned this **** in Kindergarten, come on now.

Which means neither side is convincing enough for me! Then again, when have opposing extremes ever been the most effective answer

I somewhat agree with everything you said. I would attribute this to sexism though. Males that don't fit their gender role are inferior. Being feminine definitely doesn't fit the role. As opposed to attributing it to sexuality.

Leave it to white people to be completely oblivious to the destruction their own people have caused.
Nobody is denying anyone can be discriminated against, but the kind of racism that Gillap was trying to get across is INSTITUTIONALIZED RACISM. We live in a society that is built off of foundations of white supremacy. Just because laws have changed on the surface, doesn't mean hundreds of years of slavery, murder, rape, and social conditioning has been rectified or undone. For example, even the way standardized testing that determine college admissions is written is inherently biased. It is written by White males for White males. These underlying were put in place to suppress minorities, which means minorities have to work 10x just to get half as far.
It's white privilege that keeps and ensures Whites to stay ahead. Regardless of whether a white person is racist or not, they benefit from white privilege by default. As a minority, I may more educated, qualified, and intelligent than a white person, but statistically I am paid less because of my race and am more likely to get passed up from a position over a white person, even if they are less qualified.

No ones saying that white people didn't **** over other races in the past, please learn to read, my dear
Except this thread says "Share your racist experiences" not "let's talk about institutionalized racism." I stopped reading right there by the way, because I hear about what my ancestors did enough on Tumblr.

Doesn't affirmative action help at least a little bit? And Asians are highly successful in Western nations, and they are a minority, so I don't understand your point.
