I live in Sydney and I often get bitten by venomous spiders and I have to transported to hospitals quickly. I will never forget when a Kangoroo ran after me in the middle of downtown.
No but I've been pretty close to. The other week I felt this tingling on my leg, went to scratch it but felt something weird when I touched it. I grabbed this thing in my hand with a tight grip, paused for a lil bit then opened my hand. It was huge damn spider and it quickly jumped off my hand and ran away somewhere.
And when I was 12 one day I decided no not wear socks with my shoes cuz I was so cool. But I felt something weird pressing against my toes on my right foot. I take off my shoe, reach into it, grab this thing, and pull it out. A damn spider.

Australians their daily struggle to stay alive and unbitten.
Whenever I mention Australia to my mom she says she wouldn't want to go there because she once saw an (acted) documentary where an Australian woman was bitten by a spider when she put her foot in her boot. It's just a prevalent stereotype that Australia has spiders, snakes, and all sorts of endemic fauna (they do have lots of unique animals).
