So, I like this guy, but IDK if he is gay. He stares at me and we look at each other, but I'm not sure. I look at him and he looks at me...Today, I caught him staring at me.

My question to YOU guys is, if you were me, how do you start a conversation with this guy? I walked right pass him today...I knew he was looking at me...I felt an urge of just going up to him and talk, but I got scared.

Compliment on something that he's wearing. I did this before a few times with strangers and it really started off into a good conversation.

Drop something "accidentally" and hope he picks it up for you and say "thank you".

This would be a good start. Usually, depending on the reaction he gives you, you can tell if he is gay or not.

Mess at these slumber party answers. Just nod, say hello, any form of greeting or acknowledgment. If he keeps responding favorably, then maybe start asking questions or the like. Don't act any different around him than you would anyone else; he could be just as nervous (or not) as you.
