It's best to text little at the start. Get some clarity. If they're saying very little, imo regardless of what they tell you, they're not really here for ya. If I fancy someone I wanna know everything about them. I don't bombard like..but I make effort. Be passive.

I never like to play games when it comes to texting. But I wouldn't text conversationally until you're really comfortable with them. There's nothing worse than coming across as clingy because you jumped the gun and got too chatty too soon. Only text about making more plans and on a need to communicate basis at first, that's what I do

The best way to find out is to talk to the other person about it. If you feel like they don't reply to you enough (and I don't mean within five minutes of receiving your message), just ask them what's up with that. Otherwise it's too easy to jump to conclusions that are wrong and misunderstandings will happen.

Another advice I can give from my own experience, don't assume they have the same texting habits like you. Some people are really not into texting/their battery dies a lot/they don't check their phone that often/simply forget to reply. It doesn't always mean anything when you have to wait a day for a reply. As long as they make at least a little effort to keep the conversation going/ask questions that show they are interested in you/plan another date you have nothing to worry about imo.

That's why i always wait to get a text from tha other party, then i proceed with tha conversation.

And if i don't know how to reply to a text i'll just wait until tha person texts me again.

In general the guy/girl should talk to the other individual about this. Most men/boys don't like to text too much. When I was single and went on a few dates, after the date I would text him that I had a good time and of course he texted back. I usually waited until he texted me back, if he's interested in you he will text you back.

also, i prefer to be blunt. i straight out tell him that i like him, given that he's being texting consistently. if he texts consistently, then it's okay for you to start the conversation as well.

I have a very similar problem at the moment. The guy I like most of the time texts me first but after a few messages, he stops texting me even when a question is asked or the conversation's actually interesting. However, the next day he texts me again with a "Hey" like we were starting a conversation all over again and nothing had happened. Which is pretty confusing and quite annoying. I barely text him first for that reason alone. I wanna ask him like what's the deal but I don't wanna sound too forced or anything.

But yeah, regarding what you asked, pretty much everyone else has been saying. If he replies and texts you first then he probably likes you and wouldn't mind it. Or just straight out ask him.

I think I'm the kind of guy who texts a little, to not oversature him but at same time he may think that I don't like him because I don't text him that often

I like a girl right now who doesn't reply a lot. She always seems interested in the conversation but then she'll just stop replying until the next day and then she'll text me back. I asked a friend of hers who (luckily) said that she isn't very good about replying, even to her.

My bf and I hung out a lot before we made it official. I can't recall texting a lot before. "Excessive" texting should probably only take place when yall are comfortable enough with one another

This is SO annoying.

This is a little bit different but I'm kind of going through the something like this right now and I thought I would post this here... My boyfriend isn't talking to me right now and he got really mad at me because I was texting him too much. He was like "Don't ever text me again" and I felt like such an idiot omg. It's been a really long time since we've talked and he's still ignoring me. I've tried texting him, calling him and leaving him messages, sending him messages on facebook and emailing him. I've been trying to get in touch with him every way I possibly can but he's still not talking to me.

Should I keep trying to get in touch with him or should I wait for him to text me? I've never had a boyfriend before and this is the first serious relationship I've ever been in so idk what to do.

I really am not a big social texter. I prefer to text only to discuss plans.
