“Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous,” Singer explained to the publication. “It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it.”
The filmmaker stressed that Paquin was not the problem. “She did a fantastic job,” he said. “She was awesome in the sequence. She’s a brilliant actress. I would work with her in a heartbeat.” As for Paquin, Singer says she “completely understood” the move. ”It’s very disappointing, but she’s very professional and she knows that stuff happens, particularly with material you shoot early on in production,” he said. “Films evolve.”

Anna Paquin is a good actress I most always like but Rogue was always pretty boring in these films. I would blame that on poor writing, I don't think this is much of a loss especially with the tons of other characters in this film.
Usually cuts like this happen because the sequence was not important to the plot in telling the story in terms of action and driving the story forward. I guess it'll be a deleted scene on the DVD.

I'm pissed she is one of the original cast member!and it's one of my favorite character from x-men.I already hated the fact she is completely different form the comic version , but now i'm even more pissed because basically they cut her storyline (and screentime) since they introduced Shdowcat in the franchise(and still don't understand why considering that she has nothing special to say or do!)!it's like not having respect for one of the most important character and an acress that has had a big part of the original series.Come on , she is a oscar winning actress give her more credit!halle berry has a mjor role in the movies and it was pregnant during the filming!

If it's just one scene, why not include it? Rogue is one the most popular X-Men. **** this ****. First they give us a ****ed up Psylocke in last stand, act like Jubilee doesn't exist, cast Halle the horrible as Storm, and now this? WHY. There's going to be another theatre shooting but for a whole new reason I tell you hwat
and it's funny because he has his own franchise as "wolverine" but even in x-men he was the main protagonist and wolverine storyline was the centre of the story

I haven't read the comics and she was my favourite character. It's just painful because half the cast are terrible yet a great actress is cut from the only scene she is in.
anyway i would have cut form the movie iceman and shadowcat and finally have gambit togheter with Rogue , considering they are much more important and famous on x-men universe than the first two...
