Very tacky country with a lot of tacky and ignorant people who don't know anything about the rest of the world. I've always said America is the country of big bigger biggest and rich richer richest. Only people with money who live in big cities have a good life in America.

It depends on the state. I really love the South (GA, SC, TN) and places like Arizona, but I really dislike Texas and its dark brick suburban houses
I've only been to NJ, NY and MA tho.

Now, I might not have been in the land of Tejas before but from what I've seen on TV, Most of Texas' suburban homes look Pink bricked or some other weird color.
NC and GA have those Dark bricked McMansions you are talking about.

Honestly America is an amazing country to grow up in.
We have so much diversity, our geographic features, our history.
I've never been one to be proud of my Country, but the ignorance you guys were spewing over bad experiences with tourist or what you know from pop culture is quite ignorant.
And we have the greatest show in the world "Scandal".

The people? No. Too fixated on beauty at times.
The country? Awesome
Overall 4/10

A few bad apples ruined it for everyone else, there's people that do go to the US on tourist visas and don't leave. They work under the table, so of course the US is going to be strict with who they let in.
But, if you have a plane ticket proving your going to leave the US, and your visiting for say a month, I don't see why they would deny you a tourist visa.
Even me, a Canadian, was asked at US customs to show proof of a plane ticket showing I was gonna return once.

The US Embassy just assumes they won't leave even if they have a ticket, I mean, they have probably found out about some cases. I swear some Venezuelans are...

The whole "right to bare arms" thing there just boggles my mind considering the amount of gun-related crime.

Outside of the big cities, it seems a not very nice place to be.
So many intolerant people, such a terrible structure of government, such an insular attitude towards the rest of the world, such a lackadaisical attitude towards the environment, appalling standards of healthcare, education, weapons control and social equality.
Very happy living in the UK. Either here, or an equally as liberal country like Switzerland, Sweden, Iceland or Norway.
I mean, at the least, can't you guys just sign the damn Kyoto Protocol?

There's 7 continents. If America is one continent that means there's 6. Where's the logic?

It has its good and its bad, just like every nation in the world.
My main complaint with America is that the people seem so uncultured, they seem to forget there is life outside of the U.S.

South America and North America are TWO different continents. Scientifically speaking, they are separated by tectonic plates. The United States of AMERICA is the formal term, the informal term is America. Always has been for hundreds of years, just like we say Mexico and not United Mexican States, or China and not The People's Republic of China.
Don't you DARE come for my education, I am a college educated person. And I know for a fact, the US has the best and highest standards of higher education in the world. WHY do you think the US colleges pretty much outrank the rest, have larger endowments, and are full of foreign applicants trying to score an American degree? Don't even. Learn your facts, there's 7 continents. By your logic, Asia and Europe should be combined into Eurasia, but that's not used often.

There are a few continental models: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continente
I wasn't coming for your education, I was stating what I learned. America is not a ****ing country, it's a continent. Try to read that in Spanish, if you can.

Oh so now you think I can't understand Spanish
Anyway, the term is and will always be North and South America. America is a country, with a formal name of United States of America. If you want to use Wikipedia too, here goes:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_of_America
One of the names is America, right in the bolded first line. Do you call yourself an American (like people from Europe can call themselves European)?
Also according to this, your model is taught only in Latin America
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continent
While the rest of the world uses the proper model of separating North and South.

I'd love to have a conversation with you in Spanish. No shade. But you will see what I was trying to point.
Of course I'm an American, but we don't use that term, we call ourselves Latin American, which is different. In here, we don't call you Americans, when we refer to US people, we call them "estadounidenses" or "gringos".
In here, we don't use that model, we've been taught America is a continent. You commonly refer to your country as America.
