She's definitely not saying she doesn't want her singles to be successful, she's saying she's not Rihanna and that she doesn't survive as an artist in the public realm by releasing single after single to stay relevant and is more album oriented....

It's a pity how a pop artist, who thrives from single
and album sales, doesn't have enough faith in her own music to sell her wants as an artist while simultaneously appealing to the general public. I mean, we can all pretend that Gaga is Bjork because the Monsters seem to use cosplaying and imaginary time as a coping mechanism because of their fave's recent lack of success, but at the end of the day the receipts speak for themselves.
