UK X-Factor maybe, but USA X-Factor is even worse then The Voice. The winner of the first season never even released an album and it's been two years and a second season gone by with a third already filiming
I was wondering, why doesn't the X Factor USA produce stars like One Direction or Leona Lewis from the UK version? Different tastes? Demographic? Discuss
the UK one is the best talent show of the past 100 years bar none
I don't know what Simon was thinking when he created the abomination people refer to as X Factor US ...
US just wants to root for someone, then they completely forget about them when the show is over. However, from last season Fifth Harmony and Emblem 3 have been moderately successful lately.

Saturated market, there are too many talent shows in the US. X Factor UK has been a ratings/charts force for 10 years, US arrived two years ago and is already dying imo.
I don't watch these shows expecting the people to become famous after. I just want to see decent singers I can root for during the competition sing covers of some of my favorite songs.
Then, if I really do end up loving the artist and supporting them after the show (Fifth Harmony), then I have all these covers to look back on and watch again (Anything Could Happen, Impossible).
So I still have fun watching and don't care about most of the contestants being stars.
That said, y'all better go buy "Miss Movin' On" on iTunes and request on radio thanks.
Because the US version wasted 10 million dollars on Melanie Amaro, who never sang anything uptempo, and a country singer that was older than Avril, Ashlee, Katy, GaGa, Ke$ha, JT, Britney, Christina, Nelly Furtado, Carly Rae Jepsen, Cher Lloyd, Ellie Goulding, Bonnie McKee, Calvin Harris, Miley, Demi, Selena, Bridgit, Adam Levine, Joel & Benji Madden, P!nk, Channing Tatum, Sia, Beyoncé, Ciara, Jesse McCartney, all five members of Danity Kane, Nicole Scherzinger and the rest of the Pussycat Dolls, Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood...and the list goes on and on.
If you're older than pretty much EVERY popstar of the last 15 years and you are JUST starting your career, you're in trouble. And Tate Stevens was basically a waste of $5 million.
But it's not like the UK show is that great either. Steve Brookstein, Matt Cardle & Leon Jackson all flopped too. And James Arthur probably will follow as well and Joe McElderry didn't do well either.

Emblem3 is all male group from same season, yet I don't see them being huge at all...
They are talentless, not hot and their music is not good.

I think Simon and co. tried to make the first season of X-Factor US too much like American idol, as far as what they delivered to the viewers. They focused more on bad auditions and awkward moments than they did actual talent. If the viewing public was tired of it on American Idol, why would they be hype about it on X-Factor?
What made me start loving X-Factor UK was how much they put into the artist and how far they let them go creatively, it was about finding and nurturing talent. not quick laughs and forgettable crazed individuals. and the second season of US X-Factor was horrible because they kept trying to find another bieber, or another (insert act here). It got old quick, and the judges lacked chemistry.
and the reason the past two US X-Factor winners haven't done anything is because they never stood a chance. neither of them provided anything the industry needed. they both had lackluster music, lackluster images, bad promotion, and neither ever fully had the public attention.

Matt Cardle didn't flop, he was just treated VERY badly by the x factor machine + he was unfortunate that he won the same year that 1D were made/created, no one would of stood a chance when Simone PUMPED that much money into 1D.
The UK show has massive ratings and it always sends the media into a frenzy as well. The hype around the show is inescapable when it's on air, it's literally everywhere. The exposure provides a great platform for upcoming artists.
