Disney has come under fire after claims that the studio 'sexualised' Brave's Princess Merida.
On May 11, Merida was added to the Disney Princess lineup as the 11th Princess and is the first Pixar character to be included.
As part of her induction, Disney unveiled a brand new look for Princess Merida, who now appears older and slimmer while also wearing a seemingly tighter dress - something the character (voiced by Kelly Macdonald in the 2012 movie) expressed hatred of in the film.
A petition against the studio launched on the Change.org website has so far gathered over 112,500 supporters, including the film's former director Brenda Chapman. She told her local newspaper, the Marin Independent Journal: "I think it's atrocious what they have done to Merida.
"When little girls say they like it because it's more sparkly, that's all fine and good but, subconsciously, they are soaking in the sexy 'come hither' look and the skinny aspect of the new version. It's horrible!
"Merida was created to break that mould - to give young girls a better, stronger role model, a more attainable role model, something of substance, not just a pretty face that waits around for romance."

These parents are reaching. I think she still look same. It's just a her 2d version. When are parents going to realize you are supposed to be a role model for your kids and tell your kids the right messages? Not a celebrity or a damn cartoon.
