Here is why: The production is far more refined, unlike Born This Way where the vocals are overpowered. The songwriting (while simple) – is still far more effective than anything on Born This Way. It resonates with people to a greater extent. Katy's melodies are more concise. It's structured in a fairly straightforward way, that hits you right from first listen. The concept is also digestible, while the other tries to do a little "too much" if you get what I mean.
Teenage Dream. It's a more coherent body of work, and it still sounds fresh today. Each song was single material, which speaks volumes as to how much effort was put into the album.
