Let me get one thing straight, the thing is that Facebook never intended to be "cool" that's why the design was basic in the first place in comparison to the customizable Myspace which was a total mess.
Facebook worked hard to be become a
tool of communication in which actually is now as important or even more important than the phone.
Personally, Facebook IM is my most used way to communicate with friends and ain't no stupid hipster wannabe teenagers going to tell me if I'm cool or not for using facebook a lot. Tools, who needs them? I fancy Instagram but though I have a twitter, I really don't need to talk to a bunch of strangers even friends on it. I communicate with friends face to face not by a limited crap 140 character thing. And Tumblr is a way of expression, different than a tool of communication, I don't know if you get my point. And to add, people post their Tumblr s*** on Facebook for people to like them.
With Facebook I can make a long ass article size statuses and yeah, people are getting used to that.
140 characters? My ass, go smell some s***.
My deactivation was like a kiss of death to its cool factor.
I don't have the patience to browse endless tumblrs or my wall for photos/gifs to reblog, I get bored. I do love instagram and love mine.
