Wii U vs Apple: Who will prove them wrong in 2013?
The tech segment on the street is less forgiving when you don't do anything new and that's reflective in the latest stock price drops for Apple and in the Wii U's terrible sales. Who looks to come out on top and be that comeback kid? Who will sink in 2013?

The Wii U with nothing but a tablet, and the iPhone 5, with nothing but a bigger phone. They're easily the biggest sellers in their own right, Apple with electronic devices and Nintendo with gaming, but they seem to both crash for the same reasons.

Anyways the Wii U and iPhones are similar because both are established brands with extremist fanboys. Wii U released a gimmicky motion control thing and succeeded in marketing that trend. Apple released Siri which was also bug ridden, tacky and unreliable when first released but of course the consumers needed to brag about some kind of innovation. They both markup their systems and are both underpowered in comparison to the competition. Nintendo is barely getting on board with online gaming and Apple remains stuck with limiting freedom in ecosystem and customization. All this and more is why The Street is concerned.

How are extremist fanboys exclusive to Apple and Nintendo? Did you miss the millions of jaded android and sony stans? Why mention them at all, really? You don't sell 90 million Wiis and 150 million DS systems by being supported by fanboys. You don't sell 250 million iPhones with only fanboys buying them. Stop trying to invalidate impressive sales numbers. In fact, the exact reason the Wii U is underperforming is because it is appealing to only gamer and not the general public.
Secondly, the average consumer (you know, the people buying the majority of the phones) aren't concerned about the iPhone being underpowered. As far as they are concerned, the iPhone is the premium phone on the market, and the rest are mere imitators. That goes for tablets as well. From the format's introduction, and even now, people refer to them as just iPads. Apple products do very well on the market and they make tons of profit for them. If Apple is flopping, then that implies quite grim performance for their competition.
