The Gay-Friendliest City In The World?
I love statistics and I usually make up polls about a multitude of topics. That being said, I decided to take the initiative to make this poll, so we can see the general opinion regarding the gay-friendliest city in the world on ATRL.
I made a list featuring 88 major and supposedly gay-friendly cities to add on this poll, but ATRL only allowed me to add 50 options. Thus, unfortunately, some of them didn't make the final cut.
In this multiple-choice poll, you'll be able to vote for 49 widely-known cities in 28 different countries ( Norway, Czech Republic, Hungary, Iceland, Sweden, The Netherlands, United States, Belgium, Brazil, Finland, Spain, United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, Israel, France, Canada, Argentina, Uruguay, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, Japan, China, South Africa and New Zealand). In case you also want to pick a city that wasn't mentioned on the poll, vote also for the last (50 th) option and tell me which city you'd have added.
Think twice before voting, even though it's multiple-choice. You should only put a tick in cities you're quite sure or believe that stand strongly for the LGBT community - gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transexuals. (locations where LGBT rights are guaranteed; levels of violence in regard to homophobia are low; being gay is seen as something normal by the majority regardless of age; studying abroad while being a foreign gay is OK; coming out of the closet while being young is commonly acceptable by family and friends, and so on). I mean, it's not as easy as it may seem, right? So search for information if needed.
Finally, in order to conclude, keep it polite and respectful.

I'm going to say New York for the US. In the world? Good question.

Amsterdam doesn't care about anything I think. Manchester was very at ease. And London has no issues with it either.

Fort Lauderdale is gay. But I suppose that'll go in with Miami.
San Francisco is gay friendly, but it's also everything friendly.

I was about to ask where Glasgow was on the list, but I realised the question was about gay friendly cities.

Amsterdam + Scandinavian cities
It's pretty much a non-issue over there.

Brighton in the UK.
It is a seaside resort about an hour away from London, and around 65% of the population are LGBT. There are pride flags everywhere, and it is the only place I have been where it feels 'normal' to be gay. Also they hold a huge gay pride event every summer.

Not really.
There are large gay arenas in London, and generally (unless you go a really part of the city) people mind there own business. That is the thing I like about London; how independent everyone is. No one is in each others faces and people just get on with living.

Amsterdam.
All the gay monuments, the many clubs, bars.
Perfectly normal here.
And people voting for USA-cities, like really?
The USA is one of the most gay-unfriendly places in the world....
Such a conservative nation...

It's truly sad how bad homophobia is in Scotland, just in general.

The day I arrived in Amsterdam, there was a massive gay pride parade going on with giant rainbow flags everywhere & Lily Allen's F uck You blaring over about 100 loudspeakers.
So... I'm going to go with Amsterdam.
