In other words, how did you come across this unique artist you've never heard of before?

Here's some of mine:
The Rocket Summer - I came across them from a fellow friend from High School. On his myspace, he had a song called "Brat Pack" and I was viewing his profile and noticed this catchy song. I downloaded it, got OBSESSED! I then downloaded his album (with that song) and now I love the Rocket Summer. Last time I checked, I had over 100 plays for Brat Pack. And now I bought their latest CD, "Do You Feel" today.
Young Love - I never heard of him before, he's very underated. Kevin from ATRL (not me) got me into Young Love. He told me to download his CD and I did. I fell in love with it and now I'm into it. I own this album and love Discotech.
A.F.I. - I would have never dreamt of buying this CD or getting into their music. I didn't buy this CD fully based off of "Miss Murder" I never really liked AFI before Miss Murder. After reading tons of good reviews from decemberunderground on ATRL, I took the chance and bought their album. And luckily I'm happy I did. It's one of my favorite rock CD's of all time
Red Hot Chili Peppers - They ain't an artist I never really knew, it's just, I wouldn't have bought their latest CD if it wasn't for ATRL. I liked a few of their past singles, but I wouldn't have dreamt of buying their CD. ATRL was obsessed with them and I took a chance and got the CD. It's a good CD...
Girls Aloud-WOW! Thank Bart for this one (Ace Reject). He wanted me to get into "real" pop music and recommended some pop groups/artists and Girls Aloud was one of them. I downloaded their greatest hits album out of randomness and fell in love with them <33333 I then bought their album online and now I own their greatest hits CD. If it wasn't for Bart, I wouldn't be into Girls Aloud.
Last but not least (there could be more...but ending it here; might add more later <if eligible>)
Alexz Johnson-Chris (Smartah) got me into her. I never even knew she was a singer, but Chris sent me 24 hours, the most upbeat song on the CD, and I fell in love with that song. I eventually asked for the rest of the CD and I loved it. I eventually bought that CD online and now I own it. I never knew about her at all until Chris brought her up. Thanks!
