A lot of Pop stars get praised for diversity... P!nk, Mariah, Taylor, Lady Gaga, Rihanna... etc. I'm not saying they're not diverse, but a lot of the times people fail to recognize Madonna as a diverse and versatile artist.
Why is that? She has explored many different sounds, genres, and subgenres. Do people not recognize the different electronic genres she does as different? Do they not really know her whole discography? Do you really not think she's that diverse? What is your opinion on her diversity as a whole? You can mention subject matter too to make your point.
Never seen anyone say those artist were more diverse than Madonna
I've seen people praise their diversity more than they have Madonna's. But I've seen a LOT of people say Mariah and Whitney are more diverse than Madonna.
Of those P!nk is far from diverse. Taylor has a little bit but not much, Mariah has a good amount (someone actually underrated in terms of diversity imo) but not as much as Madonna, Gaga/Rihanna are pretty high up there too.
But anyway, I think it's because the bulk of Madonna's diverse material comes from the 90s which wasn't her most commercially successful decade. Her 80s stuff overshadows it all and the 2000s is like a return to form since COADF overshadowed everything except Music.
I think because most of Madonna's stuff gets thrown in the dance bucket. She hasn't really had any strong R&B singles and I think her rock influences are more subtle

nope, she's called the queen of reinvention. And plenty of ppl always sayone of the reasns madonna is so great is for constantly changing herself throughout her career
I mean "Madonna" - Like A Prayer - Erotica - Bedtime Stories - Ray of Light - Music - American Life - Confessions, those albums sound nothing alike and very diverse. Which other pop star got so many different albums..
People are used to Madonna being quite diverse, so they don't pay attention.
When it comes to other (younger) popstars, they usually have one sound and when they record one slightly different song, people pee their pants from excitement because they are so used to one type of song on the radio, that they don't realize that that slightly different song is still that same recycled crap.
I honestly can't name a popstar that emerged in the the last 15 years that can be called diverse
