So many terrible songs.

The beginning with the Lights instrumental pretty much ***** on anything that follows.

If it wasn't for Lana and Marina, 2012 would have had no redeeming pop qualities.

pop music was a let down this year , but other genres were getting more recognized

Am I the only one who thinks this was actually a pretty good year for music? Sure, the major pop girls didn't dominate like in recent years, but we had a ton of new talent and some pretty fantastic chart-toppers.

This. For me, this year was great. I discovered so many new artists that i love so much.

Bad bad year for pop, but I really got into alternative and indie music this year, which was stellar! Overall 2012 wasn't that bad.

I think it was a great year for new talent, but some of that trash...Seeing amazing songs like Lights and Spectrum mashed in with those terrible Usher, Chris Brown and Pitbull songs

I think new talent did well but hitmakers like Dr. Luke and Max have become complacent and repetitive. They need to be overhauled lest they step it up.

Best year in music since forever tbh.
