Well, technically it kind of is. India and some of the countries around it are considered to be a "subcontinent," I think because of the way that that area is separated from the rest of Asia by mountains and stuff like that. I could be wrong about the reasoning, though, so here's the Wiki article for further reference:

And about the video: I agree it was overkill, and I don't condone a man putting his hands on a woman (it's just typically an unfair fight due to sizes, physical strength, etc.), but I also agree with Whoopi that some women try to take advantage of this social norm we have about inter-gender violence and think they can get away with putting their hands on men whenever they want just because they (mostly) won't hit back. And that to me is total ********.
