There were many complaints about Rihanna's Diamonds song which jumped to the top spot on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart last week. Many users of this Forum said, that it's undeserving and Diamonds isn't even an urban song...

Urban radios are PLAYING HER SONG, that's why it deserves to chart inside the Hot R&B/Hip Hop songs chart. It's not like she said that they have to play Diamonds. Guess urban radios find some edge and urban feeling of this song.

you dont understand, billboard changed the rules and they included digital sales and digital sales were the main reason diamonds jumped to #1. many more songs had more airplay, the same happened with Carrie, Blown Away was supposed to be #1 on country, but it got overshadowed by WANEGBT by Taylor, which is like in the top 10 in itunes but out of top 50 in country radio.

Well I think she deserves it, this song is much different than her latest singles. And could be played on different formats.

I know that and thanks for pointing that out^^. Miguel and especially Brandy deserved the top spot and is a huge scandal for getting blocked by a song, which hasn't huge urban airplay.

I was more on the people whom said: "DIamonds isn't even an urban song", "Why is it even charting there"... etc etc. It's charting there, because it's being played on urban radios.

Judging by it's updates in the last days, it could reach the top 20.

@Rico, oh well. Slayage because now honestly.. It isn't even an urban song.

Just because she has released a couple of urban songs in the past, they now will consider every song she does urban same with considering every Taylor Swift song has to be country when it isn't.
