It was #61 on urban the week before. It was heading for top 50 (and probably top 20 eventually) regardless.
I do agree though, that Diamonds isn't very urban, and that if she was white urban radio wouldn't be playing her though. I think the over-reaction was a bit much though, in my country Flo Rida has had 4 #1s on the R&B chart this year... Billboard are way better at classyfying R&B/hip hop than the chart company in my country is, since apart from Diamonds, pretty much the rest of the chart is in the genre. In the UK the R&B chart is about 50% eurodance music.
Australia is also bad with their urban chart, it's full of stuff like Jason Derulo, etc.
If a white person released Look At Me Now or Adorn they would also be ignored on urban radio tbh.
