I was watching VH1: Behind the Music, and it was on Nicole and the Pussycat Dolls. A Nicole said she sang the lead and background vocals, everything was her. She even had to play the album to the girls because it was the FIRST time they heard the songs. Ron Fair said Melody did some ab libbing here and there, but it was just Nicole.

That's complety messed up, I thought they sang background and Nicole was just lead. So it looks like this was just a way to get Nicole famous according to Ron and Interscope Records. Andther proof is the song Jai Ho, where it says "Pussycat Dolls feat. Nicole", she said it was a way to put her out there.

Melody had some lines and some back vocals, Carmit did as well, and the other dolls hardly sang!

Melody and Carmit did background vocals on some of the songs on their 1st album...Melody also has ad libs and a few song lines on the 1st album...Carmit has a few solo lines on the 1st album...when Carmit left, Jessica did whatever vocals Carmit used to do

On the 2nd album Melody and Jessica do some background vocals, with Melody doing random ad libs again

Kimberly and Ashley really didn't do vocals on any PCD songs, they were there to dance

On the Doll Domination deluxe version, all 5 girls had solo songs though

People who actually heard "PCD" know that Melody and Carmit had a fair share in the vocals. But yeah Nicole sang 95%. But it at the end of the day all a label and management decision. Nicole was signed as leadsinger and as solo singer at Interscope records, the other 5 were just employe's they basically were hired. Melody and Carmit were hired as co-singers, so I get why Melody got pissed eventually, the other 3?

They were hired as dancers, nothing more, they basically got greedy for more because they also gained fans as individuals. But they got solo songs on DD.

and the Jai Ho situation was more than fair, she released basically her music under the brand name of PCD and the others also benefit from that, so she just stood up because she wanted to follow her dream --> a solo career.

I feel like if Nicole spoke out on behalf of the other members (since she had the most pull out of all of them), they probably wouldn't of broken up

She didn't sing ALL the songs, but she did all LEADS. PCD was basically feat. her. I think she should've went solo from the word go. Even before PCD, I bet she'd be blowing these gurls out of the water.

As a pcd fan i agree with this tbh. Im a nicole fan as well but i aint saying shes a saint. Clearly the management trusted her with almost everything so if she just requested for the other girls to sing then they would all be happy but nicole really wanted to be a solo artist. Thsts the very reason why she joined te group anyway.

I felt like the management really pushed nicole t the front because they felt like nicole would be massive and would bring money to the label cause of pcd's sucess. Unfortunately it all back fired.

I don't think ther Jai Ho situation was very fair at all because it was originally suppose to be a solo song for Nicole but used the PCD name so it could get credit for it so, they were used for Nicole's benefit.

Then they got greedy, Ashley, Jessica and Kimberly were never hired as singers but simply as back up singers. I can get if Melody or Carmit back in the time would want to have more involvement sinc etheir vocals also appear on the record, so if they choose hard songs, they don't get a proper chance to shine in what they can do, but the other 3 just wanted more than they knew they could get. I mean if I work on a office as simple employe, and decide I want to be manager one day, than I also cannot get that job out of nowhere, since I was never hired for that work.

They got individual fans who cheered them up and said that they also should have vocals, I get how it works, but that was never their task.

It's Nicole's beneit maybe on one side but on the other, Nicole always dreamed to be a solo artist, if you would aks Nicole to release it as PCD or solo song, I bet she would have rather see it as solo only song. But she still was touring and Interscope is both the label for her and PCD, same as the management at that time who did PCD's work and Nicole's work. It was most of all a marketing decision, Nicole's name wasn;'t a household name, so it would get a easy regonisyion under the PCD umbrella, and they also tried to relaunch Nicole ro let herjump into a solo album afterwards, but that never came that soon because of the backlash she got, while it was the management and label who decide such things.

I still think honestly though that the best thing would have been if they also would have given Melody a fair share in the re-release era. I still think it should have been a re-release EP or a new short but sweet album.

If This was the re-release, I bet they would have broken up peacefully:

then they could have thrown it al together as "we wanted to show the singers of the group individual". They could have explained that Melody and Nicole were the hired ones of the group as singers, and I bet the other 3 would also not be that mad.

This just makes her look even sadder, tbh.

We all jammed to her music, but only when under the facade that there were 4 other girls singing along with her. There's a reason she was put in a group twice. She may have the vocals, the look, and the dance moves, but she lacks the 'X Factor' and that is why she'll never be a star.

Jessica Sutta is where is at. i hope she gets promotion but its kinda too late for that now.
