One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?
Also - and here's something the Bionics will never admit - Christina is highly regarded contextually. What I mean is, she was at the right time and in the right place. The "vocal trinity" of the 90s was aging and was no longer super popular; of everyone who was emerging, Christina was the only one who could have had 'THE VOICE." She got a head start on the likes of Bey (was immature vocally until about 2004) and Kelly (who wasn't even discovered at the time.) THAT - and not because of some innate superiority in skill or craft - is why she's made lists that they haven't.
Ummm NO!!! Back then you still actually had singers who could sing. Some not as mainstream as Christina though. Now I would agree if you stated something about the difference between Britneys and Christinas voice. But Christina receives the accolades because people thinks she is a great singer.
In the late 90s Whitney, Mariah and Celine were extremely popular. Its just that by that time with Mariah and Whitney they were becoming more tabloid fiddler. Also during that time a new sound was taking over. You had Spice Girls, B. Spears, N Sync, Backstreet Boys, etc becoming what was selling at the time.
Does that make her voice less impressive?
And please read twice, I wrote voice.
Oh Rolland.
It doesn't make her voice less impressive but can you imagine her making it big with just her voice in this day and age? There are plenty of girls out there with a great voice but no traction. And as of right now, even her vocals aren't that great. They have deteriorated immensely since her peak and is no longer considered one of the best.
Oh no, but it makes her equal in innate quality to the other two, which a lot of Bionics try to fight.
I highly disagree.
As a raw material Xtina's voice is far superior to both Beyonce's and Kelly's voices.
Oh, and we are not called Bionics.

Jesus.
Kelly stans always doing the most.
As I said before singing does not equal belting. You're seeing this only in the "who can belt better?" perspective.
And sorry but there are lower, middle and upper register in every human voice, bye.
I am always wondering what makes people here on ATRL think that the GP has any conception of a current "vocal trinity". People still do consider Christina to have had a great voice because the GP generally does not actually care about whether someone is a great technical vocalist or not, they care about the way a voice makes them feel and the music it is attached with. As for Beyonce, I am sorry but I have never in my life outside of ATRL heard ANYONE talk about Beyonce's voice. People might like her music, respect her as a hard working artists, but consider her as a singer in the same league as Mariah or Whitney? No. As for Kelly, I think most of the GP remembers she is there and she has her fans, but she isn't widely listened to enough to be part of any "trinity". Out there in the GP Adele is most certainly the most respected singer right now, the one every other singer gets compared to, not because she is some great technical vocalist, but because of how her voice and her music make people feel.

That's what I was saying. There were singers as good as Whitney, Mariah and Celine as well - but they weren't as POPULAR. As MAINSTREAM. They weren't the default definition of the word "singer" like those three were. Christina became that due to lack of competition.

Being a vocalist does not equal belting 5th notes like you have nothing better to do, bye.
There are way more things than just belting involved in a vocal trinity.
Umm... belting isn't everything but if Christina can't support a note with the same power and tone that Beyonce/Kelly can, that's automatically an aspect of being a vocalist that puts Xtina in a lower category. It's just one thing I'm commenting on. If you want to talk about other aspects, then go ahead. I'm not stopping you. At least we can agree for sure that Xtina's upper range is inferior
Christina's runs are also all over the place these days. I have yet to here her sing a song straight through. She struggles to support and hold even her lower notes because she's so used to jumping up and down and all over the place. That's my opinion and if you can find me a video proving otherwise - with her actually sustaining a note with good tone and breath support - well then I'll learn something new today. IMO Her breath support is flawed. Kelly's isn't as bad but not so fabulous either. Beyonce wins in that category.

*Yawns*
Kelly is not in a good vocal shape these days either.
So let's not, please. Now go enjoy your imaginary world.

ATRL sometimes sure is its own little world.
She's had two BBHot100 top 10 singles so far from her latest album. WDKY is one of the most played songs this year, not just in the US, but globally. Her album is well on its way to surpassing platinum status for sales in the US. That's about on par with 4's performance and is way more successful than Bionic. So in what universe is Kelly not listened to enough? Please, just...
And yes, the average person on the street would say that Adele is more respected as a vocalist than Kelly. I think that's because Adele is more Singer/Songwriter, whereas Kelly's been labeled as a Pop/Rock singer. Kelly's older music was also produced in a way that "compressed" her vocals, which is why people always say she sounds better live. Finally, Adele's tone is more unique, so I think that's why we've been so excited with her recently.
This isn't a live performance, but take away the instrumental of WDKY and you'll see exactly how talented Kelly is vocally.
Let this put you in your place. She looks like a damn mess but still vocally extraordinary.
She didn't use her upper-chest register.
So, nothing has been proved since I meant she's no where near where she was during AI to early Breakaway's days (vocally).
She's a great singer but she has declined. And you as a stan should be aware of that.

THIS!!!!
People dont know about all of the technical stuff, they just know what they hear.
The general public does know the difference between singing and screaming though.
