Yes! We need way more gun control.

I said before that in Japan you have to go through a day of training and then you have to pass a test to even use a gun. When you get the gun, you can only have an airsoft gun or shotgun. It is illegal to have any other gun in your possession.

General public should not have access to guns.

In UK not even regular police uses guns. They only have stun-electro-guns.

I personally think there should be stricter ways of getting guns. Like classes, licenses, training, testing, etc. But idt outlawing all together is the answer

I feel it's too late now to really solve the problem. The guns are well circulated and the wrong people have them, which will be enough reason for the "right" people to have them in turn for protection. The latter isn't likely to give up their gun whilst the former still has theirs.

I don't have much of an opinion on gun control.I DO however think psychological evaluations,gun safety courses,and criminal background checks should be used in consideration for obtaining a gun permit.Stand Your Ground laws need to be tightened up a bit as well to help prevent another Trayvon Martin situation from happening again.

and if we do have gun licenses,it should work the same as the driver's license system (albeit a few modifications)

Don't hunt. Well, there are special very strict hunting licences, so it's not a problem.

And regarding home invasion, get a baseball bat.

Basically the logic in UK: the public doesn't have guns, the police doesn't use guns, so there's no need for criminals to use guns, cause they are not afraid of getting shot by police or by invading someone's house etc. And it works well.

And no you can't say that there's less risks for a criminal. Is breaking and entering crime low in US? No it's not. But there are thousands and thousands gunshot crime victims

If someone breaks in you're likely to scare them off just by showing yourself to them. And if you have a gun on you you're more likely to provoke them into shooting you, so it's hardly beneficial.

I was always told that in the event of a burglary that the worst thing you can do is aggressively confront them or get in their way. Brandishing a gun at them is more likely to end up with you being shot than if you hadn't.

Besides, wouldn't most home invasions happen when you're out anyway?

IDK. Maybe the UK has a different breed of criminals. I just think it's weird that Americans have it drilled into them that they must protect their property with guns...whilst we don't really worry about it, seemingly?

Plus, you're more likely to have gun related accidents in a home that actually has a gun.

Thats not always true but alot would have weapons on them. Also its over self defense and all the other protection laws. I mean if someone was to break into your house right now are you just gonna sit there and watch them? You couldnt even call the police bc they couldnt protect you.
