I guess that's a true observation. But picking two songs for no apparent reason other than how many contributors it has in order to prove a point is pretty faulty. I could make a similar one with some dumb song from 1980 and a brilliant one from 2012. People get way too nostalgic, and of course history seems to keep only the best as recollections of the past.
Come on. Artists back then used many songwriters and producers as well. There have been many "deep" songs over the last year or so. I hate that people act like that kind of music only existed back in the day. It's easy to compare a simple dance song to a song with deeper lyrics in a negative way.
