I guess that's a true observation. But picking two songs for no apparent reason other than how many contributors it has in order to prove a point is pretty faulty. I could make a similar one with some dumb song from 1980 and a brilliant one from 2012. People get way too nostalgic, and of course history seems to keep only the best as recollections of the past.
I wanna leave my footprints on the sands of time
Know there was something that, meant something that I left behind
When I leave this world, I'll leave no regrets
Leave something to remember, so they won't forget
I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here
I want to say I lived each day, until I died
And know that I meant something in, somebody's life
The hearts I have touched, will be the proof that I lived
That I made a difference, and this world will see
I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here
I just want them to know
That I gave my all, did my best
Brought someone some happiness
Left this world a little better just because
I was here
I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I wanna leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here
I lived (I lived), I loved
I was here
I did (I did), I've done
I was here
I lived (I lived), I loved (I loved)
I was here (oh)
I did, I've done
I was here

I love Queen, but even they had their share of generic songs, just as Beyonce has meaningful songs in her catalogue. This goes for basically any era in music, so people need to ****ing stop romanticizing the past. It gives people a very misleading image of how things really were in history.
And to the OP, you really have no business making this thread when your fave has this:
How is this any better? At least RTW has a relevant message, even if it's poorly executed.
