Such a powerful, heart-wrenching, thought provoking film about the sad truth that many families in our country go through. The way the film tackled incest, rape, molestation, teen pregnancy, welfare scheming, illiteracy and teen pregnancy was amazingly done. Personally, it's an iconic film for me and my family considering when I was growing up, we lived in the projects just like the movie and the family next door was JUST LIKE THIS.
This is the most powerful scene of the movie:
How'd you feel about the movie?
Did you cry at the end?
Did your heart drop when Monique threw that TV at Precious and the baby?
Did you kii when Precious stole that bucket of chicken?
This movie is so touching and to think some people really go through all this **** every day! Im so happy i have my parents Now im gonna watch this movie again thanks for reminding me!
that is NOT the most powerful scene in the movie. THIS IS.
but we need to give it up for Mo'Nique's academy award winning breathtaking ungodly performance. and Gabby Sidibe and Queen Mariah too.
Idk, the confrontation scene is a MESS, considering she basically admits that she let her daughter "finish her off" cause she made her dad go away WHAT THE ****.....
I was at my friends' house, and we watched the trailer of this movie, because we were trying to decide what movie we wanted to watch.
It looked interesting, and I wanted to watch it, but we watched Insidious instead.
