The movie was really sad and I loved it. But when I try to explain what goes on in the movie to other people, I sometimes laugh.... Am I bad person?

This movie was AMAZING.

It made me weep multiple times.

The only thing that annoyed me about this movie is that a lot of people that watch it that didn't grow up as an 'inner city' kid will think that this is a story, and that Precious is the exception.

When the truth is, she's not. What she experienced is rather common among people black women that grow up in America's urban environments. I have people in my family that have went through every single one of the situations that she had experienced in the movie.

The Britney fans on the front page that were all awry about my comment probably don't realize that this is seriously not a made up story, the situation is very common.

I haven't. It's been in my list of movies yet to watch for a long time but I haven't found the time to watch them all (way too many movies )
