Musically? Not very much except the revival of 80s music would have taken longer and darker pop music wouldn't be as popular. But Katy, Nicki and others wouldn't wear the outfits that they wore during the Pink Friday/ RR and the Teenage Dream eras.

Artists like Ke$ha would have been signed at a later date and would have more freedom. Madonna would find it hard to make a comeback.

Besides, Ke$ha was signed to Dr. Luke's label in 2006, before Gaga even debuted.

Her debut a long with a lot of pop girls doing dance music at the time (Katy, Ke$ha, Rihanna, etc) may have had some impact on the push towards dance music. Fashion-wise she possibly inspired some people to dress a little weirder (Nicki, Katy, etc).

She wasn't the first to name her fans and she wasn't the first to push towards the dance music trend. It was obviously Madonna with Hung Up in 2005.

Although Gaga didn't create fanbase names, she is responsible for the alarming amount of celebrities and fans who have started to name themselves. Yes, Mariah did it first in the 90s, but it never reached the level it has now until Gaga created the Monsters. And now EVERY fanbase HAS to have a damn name, quite frankly it's annoying but whatever.

That is the only thing I can credit her for. Dressing weird and being eccentric is a recycled trend that comes and goes in pop culture. It happened in the 80s, 90, etc.

This is a good point.

Electropop mainly broke out because people like Gaga and the BEP were the biggest acts around and the biggest purporters of the act. Without Gaga it's influence would have lessened and the whole dancepop scene in mainstream would have been around the same level as R&B today; it has a growing influence but it's not that big.

Katy can say goodbye to putting cheese blocks on her head, Rihanna can say goodbye to wrapping herself in barbed wire, Nicki can say goodbye to existing and Ke$ha actually would probably be a bit bigger due to her being a poor man's Gaga when she debuted.

I know certain stanbases have gotten a little cocky about kicking down Gaga right now but at least she had something valuable to lose
