Now for #15-11, aka the close-calls for the top 10!
 |
15.
JAY-Z & KANYE WEST - WATCH THE THRONE
Two of my favorite rappers, Jay-Z and Kanye West, finally answered my prayers by releasing a collaborative album. The result, Watch the Throne, is a stunning effort in terms of production and flow, but one of the key components of rap music, lyrics, is lacking. Both Jay and Kanye's verses are weak, especially when compared to their previous work, thus the #15 position. |

14.
RADIOHEAD - THE KING OF LIMBS
Radiohead's eighth studio album, The King of Limbs, came out of absolutely nowhere. Announced just five days before release, Limbs is Radiohead's wildest effort to date, and fully achieved the task of exploring physical movements which they sought to do successfully. Interesting, left-field, and wonderfully eclectic, this album most definitely earned its #14 position. |

LUPE FIASCO - LASERS
The fantastic Lupe Fiasco returned this year with this third studio album, Lasers, which was absolutely worth the four-year wait. Revealing and political, Lupe's rhymes complement the album's production. Lupe interestingly and superbly achieves the task he set before himself of creating an album with a positive message through the adverse style, and I can't imagine any other place but #13 that this album deserves to be ranked at. |

12.
PERFUME - JPN
Japanese girl group Perfume are, unfortunately, the only J-pop act to make this albums list, but the fact that they're ranked so highly is good enough in my eyes. Their third studio album, JPN, soars into the countdown at #12. Perfectly unifying both R&B and techno, this album's arcade-style beats and elegant sound make for a listen chalked full of ear candy. |

11.
RIHANNA - TALK THAT TALK
"Papa, don't judge me now!", Rihanna begs on "Fool In Love", track fourteen of her sixth studio album Talk That Talk, and that line perfectly encompasses what I hope and pray you girls do when you see where this album has ranked. Rihanna, as you all know, is my favorite artist, and Talk That Talk is a wonderful effort. Filled with solid production, lyrics that highly suit Rihanna, and vocals that definitely prove themselves to be some of her best to date all add to this record's charm. Unfortunately, I couldn't push anything from the top 10 out to make room for this album. Hopefully you all consider a solid #11 okay. I feel terrible for this. |
