Now it's time to conclude the members list with #1! |
1.
CELESTIAL
Even though I had never become acquainted with Celestial until the summer of 2011, I heard a lot about her before then. While she was away, I gathered that she had once been a very prominent member and moderator, but had experienced a large amount of hate as well. For this, I did not feel weary about her when she returned. Yes, her stark intelligence and humorously blunt nature intimidated me, but I identified with her because I've also experienced hate on ATRL. I first introduced myself properly to Celestial about a month or two ago, and while our friendship is still growing, I appreciate how honest and straightforward she is. A wonderful moderator and an even better member. |

So it's the three of us, huh?
If Ella comments in here after she ignored me putting her on my Best of 2011 list, I'm gonna go AWF.

Now to wrap up the countdown with the Best Acts list! |
10.
FLORENCE + THE MACHINE
Ever since Lungs, I had been a fan of Florence + The Machine, and in 2011, she really blew me away. Though Florence and her crew were absent from the scene for most of the year, they reappeared with the utterly perfect "What the Water Gave Me" in August of 2011 and continued a slew of fantastic releases with three music videos and their second album, Ceremonials. Not to mention that Florence always kills it live. |

BROWN EYED GIRLS
I may not have included BEG's 2011 release, Sixth Sense, on my Top 40 Albums of 2011 list, but that doesn't mean that this group of four girls didn't bring it in 2011. Not only was Sense a solid record, but it also produced two flawless music videos in "Sixth Sense" and "Cleansing Cream", one of the most interesting concepts K-pop has ever seen, and great performance after great performance. |

NICKI MINAJ
While I stan for Ms. Minaj, I wasn't here for a lot of what she did in 2011. Super Bass delved far into pop music and her image went far too crazy for me, but I must admit that the quality was still there. The Super Bass video was still great, the Fly video was still well-done, and the two promo singles we've heard from her upcoming sophomore set Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded were absolutely great and recalled the days of earlier Nicki. I can't wait to see what she has in store for 2012. |
 |
7.
LYKKE LI
Indie Princess's second studio album, Wounded Rhymes, was one of the best releases of the 2011 year, and on top of that, Lykke brought her A-game in both the visual and performance departments. It's quite difficult to deny that Lykke stood in 2011 as one of the top indie artists in the game as well as one of the most high-quality acts the world has to offer. |

6.
G-DRAGON
Big Bang may have had a less-than-stellar 2011, but that doesn't mean that member G-Dragon didn't produce and write some great K-pop tracks as well as murder every stage he stepped on. Without him, GD&TOP, VVIP, and TONIGHT wouldn't have turned out the way that they did. Only he could stand out for producing quality in one of the worst years for the group he's a member of. |

TVXQ
TVXQ rocked 2011. Not only was Keep Your Head Down a perfect album, but they also murdered every stage they stepped on and showed the other K-pop stars and the other performers around the world how it's done, truly cementing their status as some of the best performers in the world. |
 |
4.
BEYONCE
Beyonce didn't tour, didn't smash the singles charts, didn't appear everywhere, and didn't even have a hit album, but she still brought some of the most quality the music world had to offer in 2011. Her fourth album, 4, was critically-acclaimed, and rightfully so, and the videos and performances stemming from it were not only creative but also utterly fantastic. |
 |
3.
BROWN EYED GIRLS
2NE1's Ugly promotions were messy and terribly-organized, but that didn't stop the Flawless Four from doing fantastically on the stage and releasing a great body of work. The fashion, the videos, and the music were all on-point for these girls in 2011. |
 |
2.
KANYE WEST
Mr. West brought two great albums in 2011, collaborated with Jay-Z, producing one of the most anticipated rap releases seen in years, and offered up perfection multiple times. How can all this not be acknowledged? |

1.
RIHANNA
Rihanna accomplished an insane amount in 2011. She became the best-selling digital artist of all time in the United States, earned two #1 singles, sold over 5 million albums worldwide, and cemented her status as international pop's resident chart-slayer. Here's to another big year in 2012! |
