We're talking album sales/chart placement. Not single sales/single charting/personal preference. Those don't really do **** for the album tbh. If you wanna talk singles, let's not, considering the fact that Gaga only released 3 and Katy's released 6 and so far has 5 #1s; that's not how it would work, boo.
Teenage Dream went #1 in 9 countries.
The Fame Monster went #1 in 13 countries.
TFM: 3x platinum in Australia & Europe; 5x platinum in Indonesia; 2x platinum in Brazil, Belgium, France & Japan; 9x platinum in Ireland; platinum in US & Denmark; multiplatinum in Italy; diamond in Poland.
TD: 3x platinum in Australia; 2x platinum in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, UK & US; Platinum in Brazil, Europe, & France; and gold in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy & Mexico.

It's completely fair to talk singles. The fact that there are twice as much singles is one of the things that makes TD era better. It's like saying "You can't compare Disney World and Disney Land, because Disney World has more roller coasters" Well yea, that's what helps.
Also, TD sold a lot more than TFM in the US which is "the BIGGEST music market in the world" and the ww sales aren't that far apart. TFM has a year on TD. TD is still selling in many countries.

According to whom, you? And in any case, you don't want to talk anything but album. When clearly your queen is diminished in singles.

A good reason why this thread shouldn't exist.
But to say TFM is less successful because of the SINGLES is beyond too much. It's just slmaflsda
Album sales, certifications, and awards; TFM outdoes Teenage Dream in almost every aspect, except for singles. Katy's a singles artist, and not much more.

The gap between TD's singles and TFM's singles sales >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> than the gap between their album sales.

If there were no album sales, this thread wouldn't be alive. Neither would Teenage Dream, hun.
My Queen? If you're referring to Madge, you're beyond off topic.
If you're talking about Gaga, you don't seem to understand that she's not my queen.

God, I feel like a broken record.
Album sales - US sales are higher, WW not yet, but it's still selling so it's not fair.
Awards - Era isn't over but it looks like it could get close
Tour- okay that's the only thing TFM has.

At the end of the day it's cultural impact.
Katy hasn't done it with a very successful
album, even in the U.S. Gaga did it with
one song and it didn't even hit #1.

Those are all the same thing since digital sales and airplay are the basis behind chart success. You tried though.

Katy did do it, it's called "Firework." The single doing better than Born This Way digitally?

Teenage Dream is over with awards. That **** is GONE. The VMA's , the Grammys, it's all out of sight for now. She's not getting any of that in 2012. The awards she has are what she's keeping and won't get any more for TD; Gaga outshines her there.
It's not fair because it's still selling? The Fame Monster still sells, hardly enough to count, but it still sells. It's beaten her WW, and it has more certifications. Single sales? Do you see what Bad Romance has done, with its success, charting and video? That enough is slaying.

They are not the same thing at all. Digital sales don't equal airplay, and chart success is the total of is the combination of the two, so there isn't really a "only does well" in one or the other. Good effort.
