The LED Neon colors in the logo also made sense because of the EDM songs and her Vegas residency
Also her being naked or "bare" coincides with the Personal theme.

I actually really liked the neon sign heart logo as well, I just wish they had used it for this album instead of that one. its pretty sick. britney jean didnt deserve that dope logo.

Honestly.
The original Glory shoot (Make Me cover art) would have been 10x better

I actually love this one, the shattered glass, and blue coloring is really nice

The Piece By Piece cover, although it looks messy, wasn't lazy by any means. It's not like they found a random plain pic of her and pressed a button for an effect. That effect was done by the camera, not the computer. The photographer used a lot several unique camera lenses and lighting effects, and he experimented a good bit with it. The only photoshopping done to it was the colors.
He used that same lens attachment for a few other pics they released.
BTW clearly was a concept, although it was out there. Another one that was far from lazy.

This is so ridiculously tacky. The fact that you're arguing that there was thought put into this lazy mess does not help your case.

The album and it's visuals are link, and there's no reason why she should've done a typical pop-girl glamazon shoot when each of the visuals had associated photoshoots to represent the songs already. On that note, the single covers aren't video stills, they're actual photographs. There's a difference between taking a screencap of a video (a la the Glory cover) versus an actual photograph, hence why this was the booklet image for Flawless, but Beyoncé standing like this is not a scene in the videos.
You can try to spin this any way you want, but it's hilarious how you run into every thread looking to make a disparaging comment about Beyoncé, do something better with your time

I mean, the photo itself is nice. I like the cracked effect and the fact that theres no text. If this were Little Boots or Madonna or anyone else I would accept it. But since its Selena Gomez I can't take it seriously. I wouldnt brand this messy or lazy, but I wouldnt say I liked it either. Anything she does just feels empty and contrived by default. Whereas if I were to see Rihanna do this exact cover I would like it a lot actually.

I think some of you need to learn the definition of "lazy". Tacky/messy? Maybe. Lazy, no, he experimented and put some thought into that.

MESS. Y'all need to pick up a dictionary/go back to school and learn the definition of the word 'lazy'.

I'd agree that the Judas cover fits here

Albums that are video stills are LAZY, no matter how you spin it, it means there was no photoshoot which is plain lazy.
'Blackout's cover isn't lazy, the graphics took some time to do and it has a whole photoshoot to go with it, also represents the dark theme pretty well.
Same for 'Circus', even though I don't like it, it's pretty much sums up the album content.
Kelly Clarkson's 'Piece by Piece' isn't lazy as well, that camera effect isn't easy to do at all let me tell you that.
It's not just putting on a special lens, you have to make sure the lighting etc is correct cause a lens like that changes everything.
Also a lot of psychedelic albums in the 60's/70's used that same effect so yeah no, it's not lazy as they def. worked w/ a concept in mind and the title also makes sense w/ the imagery.
I'd say that BEYONCE is one of the laziest even though she did do a lot of photoshoots for all the songs, that makes up for it.
Nicki has some really lazy ones though, there's no discussion there, only 'Pink Friday' had a good cover.
Having a photoshoot for an album is needed unless you do a crazy good graphic design cover but that also can still turn out lazy if you're not putting time in it.
However if you're using a photoshoot, it should reflect the style of the album otherwise just doing a photoshoot for the sake of needing pictures which is being lazy again.
But I don't know, in my mind it's only natural that an artist actually takes the time to create a packaging that reflects the material.
I mean how can you not put any creative thought into it?
That's just weird to me...

Everything requires some semblance of thought man. Theres nothing released that wasn't technically thought about. But just because he used some cheap effect and filter and spread it throughout the campaign doesnt make it not wack. Quite honestly though, lazy is not the right term that should be used for this thread though. Lazy in this case really just means cheap/tacky/messy.

In their defense, they started out on their debut album with a graphic design cover that made sense for that album, they continued that style for the more poppy/electronic follow-up so in my mind, it makes sense.
I don't love it though but I'd say the re-release is so much lazier, it's literally taken from a magazine photoshoot.
