Like it wasn't ALL that long ago people were calling every song with a synthesizer and a beat "techno".
Omg yasss People are now realizing that dance music has different subgenres. Although wiki does not recognize Dance pop or Electro pop as a subgenre I wouldn't be surprised if sometime down the line it is.

I think she should NOT try to outgross TMB by adding dates. I want ARTPOP era to start. She should rush the albums while shes still young. Actually Rihanna/her label is so smart with that tactic. I mean look at Britney or Bey, theyre just 30 and already fading.

As I said before. No matter what genre you think it sounds like. It'll still be percieved as electro/dance pop. Because Gaga is a pop artist. She is mainstream, I don't even care if we're talking on musical terms, it'll still be classified as such, especially with the way she writes. As Gagasm said, Electropop is essentially EDM, the only thing is that the scene doesn't like to view it as such, because of it's status. And let's not get into how pretentious the actual EDM scene can be.

I mean it's not really shallow. She's been mentioned for actually putting meaning behind her lyrics as well. Although she has her telephone's and such here and there. Most people who call her out for "shallow" lyrics are those that detest pop, because they find it of lower value. Screw them, we're not looking to please them this time around.
