I said kind of because it's whatever tbh. If you don't like something, you shouldn't feel forced to buy it but I've been sooooooo impressed by everything this year.
This is an assumption, but I believe the RIAA has a rule that requires a song to go at least platinum in sales to be eligible for streams to be incorporated into its total.
Anaconda is already platinum due to sales and streaming (100 US streams = 1 sale to the RIAA), so I think it is possible that we'll get a 2x Plat certification as soon as it sells platinum.
But, then again, I think RIAA also waits to incorporate streams until the song has pretty much died in both sales and streams which is why something like Fancy hasn't had its streams added. I'm praying it isn't Diamond because Super Bass should be there really soon. :- ( But, I know Fancy has sold 4 million and, to get those other 6m RIAA points, it'd need 600,000,000 US streams which I doubt it got. I'm just so nervous b/c Nicki breaks a lot of record by having SB going Diamond.  |
You make great points. I'm not too familiar with the new streaming certs thing but High schools cert made me think there were other eligibilities

I'm not really worried about Anaconda's iTunes position for now. It has been decreasing a lot, but so have been most of the other songs below it. She has like 2-3 promo spots in the upcoming weeks so it's fine.
Isn't she going to South Africa at the end of the month too? 
And tbh I don't think she'll be going to the UK this month. She needs to perform at X Factor when she goes though, and an interview with Alan Carr is a must tbh.

Does RIAA use only US-based views for their streaming certifications, or do they use worldwide-based views for their streaming certifications?
100,000,000 streams = 1 million sales
Starships got certified 4x Platinum in sales and 2x Platnium in streaming (combined total of 6x Platinum). While I do see Starships getting 200,000,000 US-based streams to get its certification, there is no way in HELL that Super Bass got 400,000,000 US-based streams to get its 4x Platinum streaming certification.

They only use domestic views for certifications, correct. You don't seem to be taking on demand streaming services into account such as Spotify. Super Bass was the most streamed song of 2011, but regardless Super Bass has sold well into 4M nearing 5M. So around 5M sales and 300M streams, SB in comparison to SS was local so it's not hard to believe that it received that many streams domestically.

Today I took time to promote Anaconda by telling my friend about the records it broke & I told him that she was nominated for the MVP of the Year and also for the Lyricist of the Year at the BETHH Awards, and I also mentioned that she was the only female amongst legends like Jay-Z & Eminem, soon-to-be-legends like Drake, and alongside Kendrick Lamar & J Cole.
