Trust me I've tried, but the beauty in those songs and most of Butterfly lies in the artistry and lyrics - not in the vocals. Whenever these hoes hear a Mariah song they except belts and whistles or else it just isn't worth it. They know her lyrics because I've basically forced them to over the past years. Forcing them to do The Roof and Honey is hard because ha pronunciation is not as clear as songs like My All (chorus at least), so you'll simply not find them humming to the true gems.
They love Always Be My Baby though.
True. And imo, I don't think the songs would have the same feeling if she sung them differently.
Idk if this has been asked yet, but do your parents and other family members stan for the Queen?
Because my family is rooted in 90's R&B and Hip Hop, they know LOTS of Mariah
My oldest brother and my sisters are were LAMBS.
My sister used to have all of her 90's music and was even able to tell me how the CD cases looked.
My brother met her.
My brother has ALL of her music on his PS3 or something.
I saw his collection, and he was surprised that I knew all the words to E=MC2 when it first came out.
But they still think it's gay for me to stan for Mariah. The hypocrisy.

They got no clue about her catalog though, so gems like Breakdown and Underneath the Stars remain undiscovered. Sometimes when I listen to her live stuff, they get really impressed. And sometimes, they be like "so she didn't do the whistle herself???" because ha whistles often come right after a long run; for instance 'Someday' at the VMAs.
I think you meant emotions.
The way I ran to YouTube to find a Someday performance at the VMAS was ungodly.

Ugh, I just knew it wasn't the VMAs but I was too lazy to look it up. I meant the AMAs. That whistle in the end was confusing to my sis because right before it, Mimi was belting like crazy. The swift transition from one range to another does seem impossible to do live. And right after, she goes to her lower register: "yeeaah".

Mariah her flawless vocal control and effortless transitions being too much for the others to handle

You should've shown them this much superior performance:

Ugh don't even get me started on this topic. I've been getting on their last nerves with my Mariah bullsh!t. I've just become obsessed with sharing Mariah with everyone (and I can't really because all my male friends would literally just die ). One time I made my poor sisters sit through 2 hours of live performances of Mariah. And then another time they had to watch those "25 best whistle notes and runs by Mariah" or something on YouTube Keep in mind, they're more into the whole dance trend thing going on, so...
When my sister overheard that whistle note in that Someday performance, it was just by accident because I was just randomly watching it on my computer in the living room. Like if they ever gave me the chance to properly educate them again (they will never, I fukcing blew it by scaring them away with hours upon hours of live riffs and runs ), I'd show them the whole Thanksgiving concert, MSG in 1995 and Tokyo Dome 1996. Especially ATYNAF in 1996, If It's Over in 1992, Vanishing on SNL, etc, etc.
So now we're basically in a vacuum in our house. Nobody wants to be educated, but whenever I get a chance to put on the Tokyo Dome DVD on the TV, I do take that chance. The other day, thanks to Miracle Whip, I managed to sneak the whole Thanksgiving concert into my sisters iPhone. I mean, they simply cannot live in ignorance. And everytime I watch Mariah performances in the living room, I make sure to BLAST IT during the fabulous runs. I know I ain't slick, but it has to be done, right?
;fdfghlk WHY the fukc am I rambling so much tonight?
A part of me tells me I gotta stop living through Mariah, but the other tells me to rationalize and realize that I can't live if living is without haaaaa.

I guess I'm one of the lucky lambs. My family ALREADY knows the tea.

Ugh the pain and struggle I'm enduring. It's REAL. The girls here have only witnessed a part of vocal heaven (not even the best performances or album cuts ), and now they probably won't even get into the lyrics, artistry, videos, humor, shade, her singing-instead-of-speaking in interviews, etc, etc.

Flawless stan!
At least they give it a chance from time to time though. My mom and sisters with their ugly bias turn music off the second they hear a hip hop beat/some sort of run or melisma. Them truly appreciating Mariah would be unthinkable.

Most of my family can't get into her live versions.
They say she either changes it too much (the real lambs know that is so far from the truth, but OK. )
Or if I show them performances in the 2000s they GAG at how her voice changed.
They were so RUTHLESS when it came to The Adventures of MiMi Tour.
I discovered The Queen through my older sister who grew up in the 90s and my mom, they were the lambs, then when I came around to Mariah, I just took it to an entirely other level, Mariah is consistently blaring through our house, I made the maids get into her discography as well. When we saw her in concert and she was emerging from the rafters on that swing, all three of us were crying, and my stepdad was just like

Your maids?
Yea, your maids? There's reason to assume you, RicanoRuben, you might actually be Mariah haself. I went through your last posts: You're making everyone around you listening to her or rather: your discography, your maids included, you were seriously hoping for Grammy nominations, you highlighted 'Lead The Way' from Glitter, and you promoted the dvd release of 'The Butler' a little. Humorous as you are you even put J.Lo in your sig to beguile us but I got you, it's you, Mariah trying to lurk in and get "inspired" by your lambs.
Tell us, Mariah, when is the album going to be out? Have you started recording yet?
"In an interview published in yesterday's The Press Of Atlantic City, Grammy-nominated songwriter/producer Darhyl 'DJ' Camper Jr. revealed that he worked on a song called "Dedication" for Mariah's new album.
So far we have :
#Beautiful
The Art Of Letting Go
You're Mine
Dedication
