Katy is not an amazing performer or singer, so I don't understand what some of you were expecting. She did great and even exceeded my expectations. I love that Katy accepts the type of artist she is and doesn't try to aggrandize her talent like some other popstars. I loved Missy's performance and I'm glad she's getting the recognition she deserves. Unfortunately Lenny was left in the dust, but his appearance seemed out of place and too random to be memorable.
I expected nothing, I mean... it's Katy we're talking about. She completely doesn't appeal to me nor she's a great performer, but I must say it was pretty good. Cute effects and the intro>>>> but it got simply boring after Teenage Dream. I have no respect for lip syncing tho so overall it's 3/10 for me (6/10 if she sang live)
I didn't like it. I wish she could have danced. I liked missy elliott though she slayed.
But Katy can't dance so why would you want her to make a spectacle of herself? She did great. I liked it. It was true to her style. I'm so glad they aren't now expecting dancers to know how to sing as well.
Okay the intro was decent (I don't think it did Roar justice tho) and generally the first part was amazing, she and the boy absolutely SLAYED IKAG
I wasn't really feeling TD but whatever and then the parts with that rapper, who I personally don't know who she is, dragged on forever. Firework at the end was phenomenal, I admire her for being able to sing while floating around, impressive. Overall she did amazing, much better than expected so congratulations and the Kats can be proud
PD: The vocals were really good. I don't know how this goes but she sounded live for me unlike the rapper which was clearly playback so if she indeed sang live (which is what i think), I congratulate her even more.
who hasn't lip synced over pre-recorded vocals at the super bowl? did you see how much time they had to set everything up? would be impossible for them to do a soundcheck of any standard in that position! i'm not a katy perry fan but it was an exceptional performance and to see people in here saying 'what do you expect' 'it was boring' 'my ears are bleeding' etc^ it's quite funny, y'all are a joke the effort from everyone that went into that performance and you all just dissmiss it because you don't like her music? (or her in general but thats just some hipster **** for another time) I mean as 'music fans' your gunna need to watch it again and remind yourselfs how lucky we are that performers can even perform these type of numbers and provide visuals like this these days? unless you'd rather a band on the stage in the middle of the field maybe? c'mon like.
I loved it. Katy stayed true to herself and delivered great visuals. I feel like TD took some power out, ET would've been better imo but that doesn't matter now. Congrats to Katy and her team for a great show!

That was POP dammit. She is a POP star. She is a POP legend. Her sound is entirely POP. And no, this isn't ARTPOP shade. Everything about Katy Perry just screams "pop" - her looks, her songs, her visuals. It looks colourful. It sounds colourful. It's upbeat. It's fun. It's cartoony. It's childish. I love it. I love that her artistry is so clear. Everyone knows who Katy Perry is as an artist. Her sounds and her visuals are a clear reflection of her personality - a funny goofball who doesn't take life too seriously and loves to have fun.
The beach theme is entirely Katy though. She's always been like that; fun, comical, lighthearted & even childish in a way. That's not a bad thing it's just who she is as a performer and an artist, she's a 100% pop artist who doesn't take herself too seriously. I'd rather she stayed true to herself & what I love about her than ended up looking like a tryhard. It's a Katy Perry performance, there's always going to be fun, cheesy, campy aspects to it.
I just watched in full. I just don't know how anyone could hate 100% of that from start to finish. She looked and sounded great and it was great family entertainment. It wasn't even that tacky for her standards and it was really enjoyable. I'm very impressed with her
Missy being god as usual, I just got into her again recently so it was so nice to see. Katy next to her was so cute too
I don't even like Katy but the performance was great. Teenage Dream was the only boring part for me, Roar was decent, Dark Horse, IKAG, California Girls, Firework were great imo.
